Here are my photos from Game 6 of the 2002 World Series. Unfortunately I couldn’t start ’till the fifth inning, but thanks to TiVo I was able to get decent shots of all the important moments from then ’till the end.
Here they are:
Appier after Dunston knocked him off the mound, with two out in the 5th.
Bonds’ long solo home run to bring the score to 4-0 San Francisco in the top of the 6th.
Russ Ortiz is totally on tonight through six.
Ortiz strikes out Salmon with two on in the bottom of the sixth. Like I said — he’s totally on tonight.
(The kid is hitable.)”>
Jeff Kent gets a two out RBI single off Rodriguez to score Kenny Lofton from third. (The kid is hitable.)
Dusty Baker has a word with Russ Ortiz at the plate, I presume a kind one, before bringing in Felix Rodriguez to finish up the 7th with two on and one out.
Scott Spiezio at bat against the new pitcher, Felix Rodriguez, has an eight-pitch at-bat, and hits one just out of the park to right-center, knocking in men on first and second and bringing the score from 5-0 to 5-3. Rodirugez would leave the game, bringing in Scott Eyre who would only last for one batter before Baker brought in Tim Worell.
Brendan Donnelly would come in to pitch for the Angels in the top of the eighth, walk Santiago after knocking him down twice, pop-out Snow, and strike out Dunston and Bell, despite his sloppy pitch location.
Erstad gets high-fives from his teammates after a solo home run bringing the Angels to within one.
Bonds can’t catch up to a ball hit by Glauss to deep left-center off a hanging breaking ball from Rob Nen, which scores two runs, bringing the Angels ahead 6-5.
Ninth inning: Troy Percival comes in to strike out Goodwin, pop out Lofton, and strike out Aurilia swinging. That’s a ballgame: Angels win 6-5.
